The Ports are committed to encouraging the development of cutting-edge emission-reduction technologies. The Ports’ Technology Advancement Program, aka TAP, provides funding, guidance, and staff support to test promising air technologies in a real-world port environment. Our goal is to help bring successful technologies to the port market as quickly as possible. That’s why we work closely with technology developers, regulatory agencies, and our port industry partners to test and evaluate these technologies to prepare for commercialization and – ultimately – widespread adoption. Unlike other regional and state technology advancement programs, the Ports’ TAP is focused on clean technologies and associated infrastructure specifically for maritime related mobile sources that operate in and around ports.
